Landlords' Letting and Management Information

Signing of Contracts

Subject to the referencing being approved by you, we will then prepare the Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement. This agreement will detail the landlord and tenant’s details, length of tenancy, rental figure and information regarding the deposit. Should you require seeing a copy of the tenancy agreement prior to it being signed, we would be happy to provide you with one.

Agreements are usually signed initially for six months, however if you specifically prefer to sign a twelve month agreement we are also happy to accommodate this. After the end of the initial contract, there are three ways in which to proceed:-

  • Resign an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement for a further six months
  • Resign an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement for a further twelve months
  • Maintain the existing agreement, which then becomes what is called a roll on “periodic tenancy”, during this your tenants are able to give one month notice at any time, and similarly you are able to give your tenants two months notice.
